Modern Gas continues implementing its national projects in the field of natural gas distribution.
As part of the company’s expansion plans to extend natural gas services and implement supporting infrastructure projects, Modern Gas continued executing a number of vital projects throughout the year, including network works, gas pipelines, and residential and commercial connections across various governorates.
First: Network Works
The total length of completed networks reached 1,348 kilometers of underground pipelines, while the number of new customers connected to the service reached 177,352 across the governorates of Cairo, Alexandria, Sharqia, Sohag, Qena, Matrouh and Alamein, North and South Sinai, Beheira, Ismailia, and New Alexandria.
In addition, low-pressure networks were implemented with a total length of 249,759 linear meters, distributed among the governorates with the following completion rates:
- Cairo 41%
- Alexandria 18%
- Sohag 12%
- Matrouh & Alamein 3%
- Qena 6%
- Beheira 11%
- Ismailia 8%
96% of the medium-pressure networks were completed, totaling 249,759 linear meters, using steel pipes of various diameters, with full compliance to quality and safety standards throughout all stages of implementation.
Second: Residential Connections
The year witnessed significant expansion in residential natural gas connections, with a total of 367,234 installations distributed as follows:
- 125,180 new connections
- 119,364 internal connections
- 122,690 external connections
These projects covered the governorates of Cairo, Alexandria, Sharqia, Sohag, Qena, Matrouh and Alamein, North and South Sinai, Beheira, and Ismailia.
Third: Field Operations System
The company’s field teams continued their work in accordance with the highest safety and quality standards, implementing a precise monitoring system for project stages and using the latest technologies in excavation, backfilling, and pipeline installation to ensure operational efficiency and service sustainability.
